We here at Trench central are hugely pleased to announce that our film is fully cast and heading into principal photography on Tuesday 5th April! (Just a day away... yikes!)

We have assembled a brilliant cast of wonderfully talented actors to embody Trench's motley crew of nutty neo-noir characters, so I'll stop prattling and introduce them to you...

Samantha Hill

Picture
Samantha is a writer and actor, and blogs about diversity in storytelling at straightmenwithguns.com. In 2015, she wrote & produced Merry Christmas, Bitches! and undertook a creative residency with the Bundanon Trust to develop her play orphan/circus/ghost/blog. Samantha has performed in SNAFU Theatre’s highly-acclaimed one-woman show Murder at Warrabah House, is an ensemble member of Boutique Theatre (boutiquetheatre.com.au), but spends most of her time trying to teach small children to be caring, literate human beings.

Trench is Samantha's feature film debut.

Perri Cummings

Picture
Perri Cummings has a wealth of stage, TV and film experience, from putting on ancient theatrical texts under the stewardship of Jean-Pierre Voos to touring Shakespeare around Australia with OzAct. Perri also directs theatre, putting on successful reinventions of As You Like It and Medea to excellent reviews.

On TV, she has appeared in City Homicide, Blue Heelers and Neighbours as Jill Ramsay, the ill-fated sister of Paul Robinson.

Trench is Perri's feature film debut.

Scott Major

Picture
Scott Major has been a regular on screens big and small for over 25 years, starring in everything from Heartbreak High, Neighbours and Good Guys Bad Guys, to Always Greener, Wildside and Blue Heelers. In the UK, he starred in BBC1's Doctors and Love Soup and, on the big screen, he's starred in The Heartbreak Kid, Envy, He Died With a Felafel In His Hand and Ned.

He formed his own production company in 2006, writing, directing and performing plays for Melbourne and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals to acclaim, while directing numerous short films, music videos for artists like Dallas Frasca, Emma Hewitt and All the Cattle, and many episodes of Neighbours. He also runs the Poppy Seed Festival, supporting independent theatre.

Dave Lamb

Picture
Dave Lamb is a graduate of WAAPA's Acting Course. Most of his professional life has been spent with Shakespeare, teaching & acting with Bell Shakespeare, Complete Works Theatre, Australian Shakespeare Company and two seasons of Shakespeare in the Vines with Essential Theatre.

He’s dabbled with most performance artforms: interactive site-specific theatre & games experiences, Melbourne Museum Comedy Tours, the sci-fi/comedy audio series Night Terrace and the indie zombie feature Animals. He has appeared on TV in The Time of Our Lives and The Bazura Project, and in the 2013 Tropfest finalist The Hustle.

Lulu McClatchy

Picture
Lulu McClatchy is an actor, singer, writer and producer who, under her wicked alter-ego SuperGirly, has performed for Madonna, Bob Geldof, Queen, Dolce & Gabanna and Bananarama -- and Sir Elton John, at his personal request (even at his home!). She has also toured the US and Canada with Just for Laughs, written and performed a trio of sell-out shows on the West End and starred in her own BBC sitcom, simply called SuperGirly.

On Australian screens, she has starred in the feature films Aquamarine, Not Suitable For Children, 6 Plots and The Sunset 6, and on TV's Bogan Pride, Valentine's Day, Neighbours, Offspring and House Husbands.

Cate Wolfe

Picture
Cate Wolfe spent three seasons playing Mattie O'Brien in the ABC drama series The Doctor Blake Mysteries. She has appeared on the big screen in Predestination, and on small screens in Offspring, Winners and Losers and Australia on Trial, as well as modeling work for online skincare videos for the Aesop skincare company. She is an acting graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts and is an avid scuba diver, environmentalist, traveler, theatre and movie lover.

Guy Davis

Picture
Guy Davis writes for the most part, but he has done a bit of amateur theatre, playing lead and supporting roles in Whose Life Is It Anyway, I Hate Hamlet and Don's Party, among others. You may have also seen his hip and part of his hand opposite Hugo Weaving in the classic 1998 Australian feature film The Interview.

Leighton Phair

Picture
Leighton Phair is an actor, singer, writer and director with over two decades' experience in the industry. He has worked internationally in Film, Television and Stage, appearing in Blue Heelers, Toybox, Legacy of the Silver Shadow, Thank God You're Here and Like Mother Like Son: The Strange Story of Sante and Kenny Kimes, starring Mary Tyler Moore, as well as the 1999 feature Ashes To Ashes. His most recent stage credit was performing with the company ‘Watch This’ in Sondheim’s Pacific Overtures and Assassins, both of which were nominated for Green Room awards.

Simon Godfrey

Picture
Actor, writer and silly person Simon Godfrey has written for television comedy programs such as The Glasshouse (ABC Television), Good News Week (Ten Network) and The Elegant Gentleman’s Guide to Knife Fighting (ABC Television). He has performed award-winning stage shows with sketch outfit This is Siberian Husky and acclaimed solo shows where he essentially talks to himself in silly voices.

Trench is Simon's feature film debut.

...and that's our cast! I'm so looking forward to unleashing them upon you in our bizarre little indie comedy neo-noir vision of Melbourne later this year or early next year!

Nelson out.
